PLACE BRANDING FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Transnational cooperation project

The objective of this transnational cooperation project is to increase the attractiviness of small villages and rural areas in the eyes of young people and potential inhabitants. At the local level this project aims to create brands for local areas and develop their marketing. At the international level the project enables the project partners to exchange best practices and promote cooperation between rural communities in different countries.

In Finland Leader Ravakka works together with two local associations; ”Pyhämaan matkailuyhdistys ry” and ”Rautilan-Irjalan kyläyhdistys ry” and two areas that are being branded; Pyhämaa in Uusikaupunki and Rautila village in Vehmaa.

It is important to find new ways to engage new inhabitants and increase rural areas’ attractiveness.
